Nathan Downs—Trash Mountain Project - Website

Former Englewood United Methodist Church Youth Director Nathan Downs and his wife, Cierra, have moved to Topeka, Kansas in August to be missionaries with Trash Mountain Project, a faith-based 501(c)3 non-profit that exists to develop Christ-centered environments for children and families living in trash dump communities worldwide.   Nathan will be Trash Mountain Project's "Aquaponics Project Coordinator", and will be responsible for overseeing aquaponic growing systems in Topeka and Trash Mountain Project’s current international programs in the Dominican Republic, Honduras and Cambodia. Nathan recently completed a training course at Morningstar Fishermen, Dade City, Florida.

The Downs are asking for your prayers that they will be able to discern God’s leading and follow it relentlessly. They also ask for your help in spreading the word of the plight of people living in trash dumps worldwide and the work Trash Mountain Project is doing to improve their physical and spiritual lives.

As all of the other Trash Mountain Project staff, Nathan and Cierra are responsible for raising their total budget needs of $3,126 per month which covers rent, insurance, food, etc. This then allows 100% of the money donated to Trash Mountain to go directly to serve those people living in trash dumps and are truly in need.

Those who feel led to help the Downs financially, should make their check out to Englewood United Methodist Church, and write “Nathan Downs, TMP” in the memo line. If you wish to mail a check to Englewood UMC, the address is 700 East Dearborn, Englewood, Florida 34223. You are also able to donate online by going to www.trashmountain.com/donate and specify “Nathan Downs” in the memo.
