Meet Our Staff
Assistant Pastor Don Burlock
Don grew up in Fredericksburg, Virginia. At the age of five years old Don was called by God to serve in the ministry. His grandmother, Lucy Skinner was his spiritual giant and led him to the Lord at a very young age.
Don is married to Mary Lynn from Baltimore, Maryland. They have three children. Donya Renee Easterly of Friendswood, Texas, Philip Trevor Burlock, of Indian Rocks Beach, Florida and Nyssa Lynette of Shreveport, La. Don and Mary are graduates of The Salvation Army College for Officers Training in Atlanta, Ga. Together they served The Salvation Army throughout the Southland in St. Petersburg; Borger, Texas; Dallas, Texas; Sapulpa, Oklahoma; Ponca City, Oklahoma; Little Rock, Arkansas; Chattanooga, Tn; Abilene, Texas; Corpus Christi, Texas and San Antonio Texas. Their last appointment included operations of Senior Citizen housing, Day care centers, Transitional Housing, Men’s Lodge, Women’s Lodge, Community Center Operation, Girls Home with three Corps (Churches) under his direction.
Don attended Richland Community College and Northern Oklahoma College for additional study together with Asbury College for a preaching seminar and Holy Land study with The Salvation Army. Don ministered in the area of Church Growth and Fundraising (Development) for The Salvation Army together with Disaster Ministry.
Since 1998 Don has served the Methodist Church as Minister of Music and most recently the Lutheran Church. Don is an accomplished musician, playing organ, piano, accordion and alto horn. He comes to us with gratitude for his calling to minister to those going through challenging times and looks forward to joining our ministry team as Pastor of Congregational Care here at Englewood UMC.
