SERIES DESCRIPTION              This three-week series explores the key themes of the book of Ecclesiastes. When life feels meaningless, when work loses all sense of significance, and when we search for worth in our toil and pleasures, Ecclesiastes reminds us that these longings are intended to draw us closer to God. Life without God is meaningless, but Jesus’s work on the cross gives us hope for the future and a purpose for work on this earth right now.

SERMON DESCRIPTION          The writer of Ecclesiastes tells the futility of life, but then, almost as a consolation, reveals the purpose of all that futility. It is so understated that our New Testament lens is needed for detail, especially on this day of receiving the Sacrament.
